Bellevue Rose (Matheson)

This sweet young woman wanted a portrait of her in front of the Seattle Temple and wanted the painting to show springtime and the flowers. It was a great deal more work to include the temple as well – quite a different painting challenge – I was pleased to do it for her.
The problem of the snapshot she gave me was that she was on a lower tier of the grounds. In order to put them together, I had to raise her in the frame. I actually used a better photo of the Temple. I also put leaves and small fruit on the tree, added the flowers, and moved the flagpole to the left so that it complemented the spire instead of completing with it.
