Curly Locks (Watson)

This photo was taken on our back porch but this handsome young man wanted a background of Mount Rainier in Washington State. I’m certainly not totally satisfied with most of my paintings, but I am quite pleased with how this one turned out. I wish the photo of the painting did it justice but it does not. Still, it gives an idea. Below is the reference photo.
Before his missionary service, he had long hair, which he had to cut off – at least on the sides. He is still quite fond of his curly locks, which he flips around to fall naturally where it will. One of the challenges of this photo was to capture his full head of hair.
