Eight Years (Ellis)

This is my sweet granddaughter, Katie, at the time of her baptism in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter at eight years old. She is a lovely child and her father is understandably proud of her. It was a happy day.
As with several of the paintings I’ve completed, I didn’t think the original photo was conducive to a portrait. However, cropping, tilting, and putting it into an oval seemed to make it workable. Below is the original reference photo of the happy event.
Here they are holding their painting. This photo is four years later and they don’t look all that different. She has dyed her hair and has braces. Still cute as a button.
