The Prez (Nolden)

All of these wonderful young men and women that I have been painting – almost 100 of them – have to have a leader. This is their mission president. He is a very happy and positive leader and I tried to capture that.

As you can see, the reference photo, taken from the Internet, was very dark. I made the decision to paint only him, but his lovely wife is very much the “Mission Mom” and is much loved. We surprised him with the painting – he had no idea it was coming. Both of them were thrilled. Below is a photo of him holding the portrait.
