Manti (Haslam)

Not exactly a commission, this was a work-for-work trade. Merry wanted help from Charlene on a quilt she was making and offered that I would paint a wedding portrait in trade. All Charlene had by way of a reference photo was a blurry and bent Polaroid from 45 years ago (see below). Charlene wanted the complete Manti Temple and much of her wedding dress, which made the faces very small. That made it difficult to capture two resemblances.
