Springtime Blossoms (Huntamer)

This was one of the first Christmas portraits I did that wasn’t a grandchild. This is Woody, Merry’s brother, and next to him is his daughter, Brittany. The background of spring blossoms and the tree were fun to paint. I was worried about Brittany’s skirt, but it came out well. I am less pleased with his trousers and Brittany’s face still needs work. Part of the problem was that it was a small canvas so the two faces were too small to get a good resemblance. It is very difficult to achieve a likeness with such small faces.

Below is the reference photo. I didn’t ever get a photo of them holding the portrait as I like to have.
