Christ – “The Chosen”

A friend (Joan) commissioned me to paint Jonathan Roumi, who plays Jesus Christ on “The Chosen.” It was a great challenge,.and I prayed sincerely to have the guidance I needed to represent the Savior of all mankind.

Since the reference photo was in landscape mode, not portrait mode, I had to “stretch” the clothing digitally and it came out goofy (as above). I used other photos of Roumi to invent more reasonable clothing. Below is Joan and Jim holding her portrait:
