The Vest (Yancy)

This is the third commissioned paintings for Robert Yancy. I absolutely loved the reference photo (below) and couldn’t wait to paint it. Her expression was priceless. Unfortunately, the lower part of the photo was blocked by a table and there was no way to reproduce his tattoo. All I could ddo was try to paint what I saw.

This painting was a lot of fun with several challenges to address. I was pleased with the final portrait. He was very happy with it as was his grandchildren when we shipped it to them. Below is a photo of Robert holding the finished painting.
