Hawaii in Washington (Walton)

Like all of the other sister missionaries, Sister Walton was sweet and lovely. I wasn’t as pleased with this painting of her but, like all the others, it was the very best I could do at the time I did it. She was pleased with it.
The reference photo, including the hibiscus flower in her hair, was actually taken inside a dark car (see below). She requested the alternate background of sword ferns.
Instead of the usual photo of the subject holding the portrait, she wanted me included in the picture.
