“Oh, Yeah!” (Fotheringham)

I recently published an article in Interpreter: A Journal of Latter-day Saint Faith and Scholarship. You can read it online or on this website under the Writing Gallery section. I also serve as a reviewer for that same journal. I recently reviewed an article by a scholar and later agreed to help him revise his paper for resubmission. As a part of the two of us getting to know each other, he looked at my art website (this one) and asked if I could paint a fun photo of his wife. The photo he sent to me is just below.
I hope that I was able to capture her fun personality of that moment. She seems to be saying, “Oh, yeah!” and I named the painting that.
As you can see, the photo doesn’t show her elbows. We both thought adding elbows told that story better and so I “invented” elbows for her. (That sounds easy – but it isn’t.)
